The story of Hagar is worthy of fresh perspective. It has traditionally been told, taught, and preached form the narrow perspective of Western cultural and theological hegemony. It is now time to look at this saga from a perspective that honors marginalized biblical figures as they move to the center of God's plans and His love of what is just and right. 

The biblical story has been generally told, taught, and preached through the lens of Western dominance, a dominance that has marginalized and oppressed Black people. This seminar is part of the Refuge for Our Soul series, which views the Bible through the lens of our Blackness and the transcendent relationship we have always had with our God. 

This teaching is perfect for Black History Month Programs, Women’s Programs, Christian Education, and Outreach. Tim truly seeks to reach the masses and is dedicated to keeping his services affordable to all.

While this seminar does challenge several assumptions and conventions within the Christian faith, in the end it provides a powerful understanding of the Hagar story and of God's commitment to justice and liberation. It better equips Black Christians to defend their faith, the true faith of our freedom fighter ancestors. At the end of this seminar, believers will have a better sense of confidence in viewing the Bible as a work of liberating messages and principles.
